its the same as taking a piece of art and putting a different frame on it, sure the art is still the same, but is it really the same without its intended original frame?

the concept of playing a game without it being altered by the environment gets more difficult the more you customize your system,

many games are designed for windows/a windowing system for one reason or another, and eventually when the desktop is no longer a desktop, experiences like those are lost to time and or difficult to replicate, i think

tho, this is going to break games that use window movement as a mechanic (oneshot) or that look best in a small window. and that decorations are not a requirement in tiling/alternate window managers will also impact these games,

i think that the taskbar was a solution to having multiple windows overlap, and once you remove floating windows, you don't need a taskbar to show you tasks anymore, instead it can show much more information about the things you want to know
