Horse hooves and iron cart wheels made a lot of noise on stone or brick. Wood was used because it made it much quieter for everyone living by the road.

A spinner knob on a yoke may be handy, but not very safe.

Iran is not bombing their own schools and hospitals.
American policy does seem to be likely to provoke elements within Iran, and the wider Middle East, to attempt some sort of retaliation on American soil. It’s almost as it that’s the intention. I wonder why that could be?
