ITS GOOD I RLLY LIKED IT but fair warning that the FMC is very... hopemaxxing hopeless romantic shoujo which ik some people dont enjoy!! each book in the trilogy also takes a while to pick up but by the 3rd act im always gasping
2nd book is the best, then the 1st, last book is ok

shadow manipulation but as an extension of your consciousness / also able to become its own consciousness... feeding shadows your emotions and cutting it off, shadowless humans missing a part of its soul, untethered shadows being blights and dangerous
