People will die at that crossing. Even with the Nickel Plate Trail bridge in place it will be a dangerous intersection. It's dangerous by design, motor vehicle designs are increasingly dangerous, traffic enforcement is negligible, and so, so much reckless and distracted driving.

Excited to see the Nickel Plate Bridge over Keystone on the way. Until then, be extra cautious (and visible) when crossing Keystone at 46th St. The drivers are distracted and regularly blow lights and take fast turns across the crosswalk without looking. #VisionZero
It will be a safety improvement for folks using the Keystone crosswalk across Erie, as that cut through street will be closed to motor vehicles. I've had trouble here with drivers going 40+ mph whipping onto that side street from Keystone without even checking the sidewalk and crosswalk.

Ya know. I lived somewhere (Urbana, IL) where folks felt beholden to walk, bike, or take the bus. They'd explain in detail why they couldn't when they drove somewhere. It was kinda great.
City of Indy has pretty good bike rack guidance in their zoning code, but their internal zoning folks who review plans for new buildings and developments don't understand it - and the developers love those damn wave racks. We've had to push bike rack education into the planning dept.
We're working on this in Indianapolis. Central Indiana Cycling is the official Indy metro region bike rack expert. I was under a CSX freight bridge in upstate NY a few years ago while some CSX inspectors were out there.
The amount of visibly rusted through beams was astonishing. The inspector said it was fine because diesel engines are lighter than coal fired.
