I like that too but I noticed it kinda alternates depending on the episode. Sometimes animals still look cartoony Season 1 style (whenever we see cows, for instance) but then dogs and birds and stuff will look like they're straight out of real life. The inconsistency kinda just makes it funnier, IMO
Honestly, I love both. I like seeing how far South Park has come with its vast and detailed BGs of today, but of course there's an undeniable charm to how simple and dinky it all looked during its humble beginnings.
This is supposed to be the same place. South Park Season 1 vs. Season 24! (hehe, I love this)

Can't believe we lost David Lynch 1 year ago today. Since then I've learned TM (thank you, David) and have planned his own art show: next Saturday 1/24. Its goal, to bring LA's art community together in celebration, love, and remembrance of David, both his work and his life. ❤️
