Finding a 1st winter Bonaparte's Gull on The Plym wasn't on my radar this morning but it was a very nice surprise, my first in Plymouth #devonbirds

Last Yeovil record of Willow Tit was at Ninesprings in 1989 I believe. Just a single Marsh Tit left wintering there in 2019 and none since as far as I know 😢
Might just be the lodmoor report that was corrected?
The now annual Forster’s Tern has reappeared in the harbour this evening, several weeks earlier than previous years. More typically it’s been appearing in late March. Wonder how long it will hang around?? @dorsetbirdclub.bsky.social @birdguides.bsky.social

Was thinking of knocking it on the head for the day, when I decided to take one more look at Pilning Wetland. Glad I did, as this Hooded Merganser had just arrived ahead of a bank of low cloud and drizzle. Needless to say, a patch lifer! Pic: @matthall95.bsky.social #ukbirding
Ross’s Gull at Newlyn, Cornwall this morning (22nd Feb 2026). Found on the 21st in Newlyn harbour by Shaun Grose.
This is the 9th for Cornwall and my fourth. The last record was in 2020 when an adult was found at Gerrans Bay on 1st Jan.

What looks like a dark morph Lapwing seen at #RSPBGreylake #Somerset this morning. It was very aggressive to any other Lapwing that came to close.
Only saw the Cisticola in flight last year, well worth a diversion on the way to visit family
Thanks! Took us a couple hours to pin down but worth it in the end. Thanks for the directions
Cheers John
