yeah, i couldn't do favorites at all, there are way too many games i've played and loved that i could never narrow them down LOL i'd have to make multiple themed lists, probably

when i say core memory it's mostly stuff like the first fatal frame being one where i had to call a friend over to help me play through it, and that game got us both into the rest of the series. we played through 2 and 3 together, and 2 is still my favorite but 1 goes on the list LOL

9 games i have a core memory around: final fantasy VII, fatal frame, silent hill 3, red dead redemption, sonic 2, deus ex, pokemon blue (technically i had red but it wasn't on there, lol), link's awakening, alan wake 2

my 9 games thing. i was struggling to figure out how to even do this, so i limited it to games i have a strong core memory around or that i still think about all the time for whatever reason. and only one per series or at least 4 of these would be final fantasy 😭
