This is such a beautifully written piece about ME and I’m so glad she wrote it. It is both reassuring and so heartbreaking to see my own experience reflected clearly here. And, like her, I look forward to not having to think and write about ME all the time!

At my school, kids would point and say ommmm or omanomanom - more a noise/s than a word I think? No idea how local that is, if it’s a British thing. Seems similar to your umbers though?

I’ve said the words “FIFA” and “peace prize” so many times in the last few minutes, I’m experiencing jamais vu.

Ahh there’s nothing like picking up a box of mixed documents (inc. various health things, letters, PhD research notes, recipes for Minecraft fireworks, a Christmas card from the cats, bills etc.) and the bottom falls out. I am now in the middle of a swamp of random bits of paper of my own making 🙄
It really does restore your faith in people when your car battery totally dies at the petrol station but people will come and help jump it (even if they don’t actually know where the battery on their own car is!) ☺️ anyway, thank goodness Halfords is on my way - new battery incoming!

A beauty - subtle, understated but powerful.
You don’t need to have read the poem Pearl to understand this novel as a love letter to the folk lore and mysticism of medieval literature, but it might inspire you to give it a go (I recommend Seamus Heaney’s version of Gawain)
The slightest touch can be painful - this is why I don’t do long sleeves, why I tend to wear natural fabrics and why I will never wear rings, bracelets or necklaces. I’m not just fussy 😅
Drop what you’re doing and go and read Butter by Asako Yuzuki.
Probably the best novel I’ll read this year with a compelling story and plenty of chewy ethical problems too. Essential reading.

Oh the irony of discovering that the company that installed the fire system that beeps at random intervals and frequently keeps me awake at night has the initials “CFS”.
A question that plagues me with my chronic illnesses is, *am I really that sick?*

Anyway, today I got a test result so high it is literally off the chart.
