We eat bite-sized rice crackers "Hina Arare" on Doll's Festival "Hinamatsuri".
The hina-arare that Nuis eat is sweet, but salty hina-arare is eaten in some regions.

March 3 is the Doll's Festival (Hinamatsuri).
Hinamatsuri is a day to pray for the health and growth of young girls.
We eat often scattered sushi(Chirashi-zushi) on that day.

Place cooked rice in a sushi tub and fan with an uchiwa (hand fan) to cool.
Mix sushi vinegar and ingredients into the rice.

Simmer bamboo shoots, conger eel, carrot, dried tofu and lotus root in sugar and soy sauce.
Separately simmer dried shiitake mushrooms in a strong seasoning.
