The Nitrux Update Tool System (NUTS) will also see a new release with significant changes: A complete rewrite in C++ and a GUI made with @maui_project MauiKit.

#Nitrux #NXAppHub

One thing we haven't been able to add is an on-screen display (OSD). We had tried various options, but none worked for us or fit our needs (Qt/QML preference for apps).
So, we made our own, meet NudgeOSD, a QML-based on-screen display. Built with MauiKit and LayerShell-Qt.
#Nitrux #News #OSD
Another change is coming to Nitrux 6.0: we'll use our own login greeter, QMLGreet (very much a W.I.P, mind you).
The reason is that customizing QtGreet proved to be a bad endeavour, and there are no QML greeters for greetd.
See: github.com/orgs/Nitrux/...

"Does it work with laptops, though?"
Yes. Yes, it does.
(MSI Stealth 16 Studio A13VG-056US)
We're already working on a GUI (name TBD), built with MauiKit (evidently).
- Test runs using NItrux and passing through the AMD Raphael iGPU to the Guest were successful.
"Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently." — Henry Ford.
Introducing VxM, a hypervisor orchestration utility for Nitrux.
Concurrent, hardware-accelerated guest execution on multi-GPU workstations.
Coming to Nitrux 6.0.0

Nitrux 5.1 ends official support for virtual machines, focusing exclusively on physical hardware for performance, stability, and a tightly controlled system design.

We've completed our new Documentation page:
nxos.org/documentation/
We've removed the Notes, while the Tutorials (How-Tos) remain on the blog. All relevant technical information is now on this new page.
#Nitrux #Documentation #News
Our blog posts have been an excellent source of truth for Nitrux users. They are searchable and detailed.
But as we scale, we need structure. We are migrating technical documentation to a dedicated Knowledge Base to make navigation as efficient as the search bar.

Stay tuned.
#Nitrux #Updates
On the heels of updating our documentation about using WireGuard, we noticed that it'd be a good idea to make the process more approachable.
So we made an app, meet Wirecloak, built with MauiKit.
#Nitrux #VPN #Wireguard #MauiKit
We've updated our tutorial, Filesystem and Security Features in Nitrux, with information on adding a WireGuard VPN connection.
Check it out: nxos.org/tutorial/fil...

We've updated our Kernel Boot utility, and a new release is available: Kernel Boot v 1.0.0.
Making it safer to load the configuration file, improving variable robustness, usage feedback, variable validation, and error checking.

We've further improved Cinderward, our simple, no-nonsense, init-agnostic, Wayland-friendly GUI for firewalld, and released it as Cinderward v. 0.0.2.
The next release of Nitrux will include Cinderward (and thus, firewalld) by default.

#Nitrux #Firewall #Release
Ah, also, we're moving to firewalld from ufw.
#Updates
Given that:
- Plasma Firewall practically requires Systemd; see: github.com/Nitrux/nitru...
- GUFW fails on Wayland,
- And, firewall-config is far too complex.
We just made our own.
Meet Cinderward [WIP], a GUI for firewalld. Built with @maui_project

PSA: PSA: We've updated the NX AppHub CLI, daemon, and app definitions.

And we're back on social media.
We've been working on improving the UX of NX AppHub, one of the many things, the NX AppHub Daemon will display notifications when installing and removing AppBoxes. 🎉
