Something a friend told me that does help:
Get a towel warmer. Keep your towel and/or robe in it. Then at least when you get out of the shower you have less of a sensory transition in terms of temperature anyway.

Also:
Autism doesn't have "risk factors". That's like saying blue eyes have risk factors. Autism is a normal variation of being human.

Correlation is not causation. Of course an identical twin being autistic is highly correlated with being autistic, just like an identical twin being left-handed is highly correlated with being left-handed. It's genetic.

I have limited energy. I'm learning to spend it wisely.

I wonder how many autistic people have autism as a SPIN.

Not the same, but I had someone who married a close relative of mine decide this about me and I found out 15 years later that she was sure I hated her, had hated her from the moment I met her, and was waging secret war against her the entire time, & I had no idea.

I had a "my sandwich" at a restaurant too and they got rid of it and for a very long time I continued to order it in person but they started dropping ingredients and finally I can't order anything that looks like it any more. Sucks so bad.

You have to stay put until that little angel wants to get up. Those are the rules.

As a woman who has seen this behavior and observed other men interacting with men who think and act this way - this is not my experience whatsoever. I've rarely if ever seen a man called out for it by another man.
