The road ahead for uniQure: FDA says more data needed for AMT-130 gene therapy. On March 2026, uniQure shared in an update that current Phase 1/2 data weren’t enough for the agency. A new randomized, sham-controlled trial may be required.

Roger was a keynote speaker at the Open Targets Science Symposium being held at the Wellcome Genome Campus yesterday. He was talking about the trials and tribulations of dopamine cell therapies for PD at this hybrid meeting and had a wonderful time discussing this with a highly interactive audience.

Check out these images created by our PhD student Jana! These are neurons extracted from brain tissue from surgery at Addenbrooke's hospital. She cultured the sample for 2 weeks and they have regrown neurites. Neurites are the long thin extensions from a neuron that allows communication.
