All the pacers, together, along with Jeff's daughter-in-law (who is also one of the race announcers) walked arm in arm across the finish line, together. There's video out there of it, if you want to see, mostly on instagram. I'm sure this description doesn't do it justice, but it was incredible.
With Jeff's passing, sprinkled amongst the grief, and the community support, Disney gave the pacers an incredible gift. At the end of the race, we got to go back to the spot Jeff used to cheer folks on from. We held that space until the last runner crossed the finish line. And then...
Following up on my very intense weekend. One of my favorite things over race weekends is getting to pace. I get to distract folks from the challenge of the race, encourage them, and often help them cross a finish line for the first time. It's a very special kind of magic.
This weekend? Mickey waffles ;)
I don't talk about running here as often as perhaps I ought to. But it's been a rough night. On the way down to run at Disney, I found out that Jeff Galloway, Olympian, and the man whose methods got me into running, passed away.
This is going to be an intense weekend.

I don't know that it does. I still feel it with Jasper too, every day. I don't know if it gets easier. I don't know that I want it to, on some level.
The hurt keeps him a little closer, keeps reminding me how much I loved him. Don't think I want to lose that.

We have several! I'm the weirdo middle space sort who likes the gym uniform (So biased) it's t-shirt (jersey knit) material. The milk silk we use for most of our designs is really nice - it's softer than a typical tee, stretchy and keeps things nice and snug. Biased or no, I wear them often myself!
I think Patches does a great job at night, but I freely admit I'm rather biased there...
