Spring greetings from Bordeaux, France! ๐จ๐ต
I'm on a short research trip of sorts to France, and oh, so glad to be travelling by train, as it's my preferred mode of transportation (besides walking). I'm hoping to share some new work soon, too, so stay tuned!
Here's a jazzy sneak peek of a large wimmel bild / where's wally type of illustration that I recently completed for a US client that works in the education sector. #illustration
Here's my recent editorial illustration commissioned for this week's The New Yorker for an article on homeownership #illustration
A tongue in cheek illustration commissioned for an article on boomers, gen y, gen z, money, and all that jazz. #illustration
Yeah obviously not the subject matter (I wish) or style, but just the angle of view. Never played a ton of fps, so have always felt more affinity to drawing scenes from above as opposed to a more traditional italian perspective or a jazzy camera angle.
I played the hell out of Syndicate and the sequal to it! I think that might be partly why I'm drawing so many isometric scenes. The fixed camera in it was a bit iffy, but otherwise it was a great game. I didn't have a snes either, but I think I played Chronotrigger on ps1 (?) or on an emulator.
Yeah it's always one or the other. It's hardly ever that a client asks for anything of a medium complexity.
introduce yourself with four video games
Thanks Jori! ๐ I like working with minimal stuff like this from time to time. It's a great exercise in only keeping the stuff that matters/makes the image and getting rid of everything superfluos or purely decorative

I have a HM mirra which is a fine chair, but I'd actually recommend a stand up desk if you are feeling adventurous...
I just added three new projects to my portfolio. Check them out here: www.janneiivonen.net

Here's my latest cover illustration commissioned for MONOCLE'S The Entrepreneurs annual. I illustrated the first three covers for this particular mag, so it was ace that I was presented with the opportunity to work on another one.
