Onto the next one, TSO 6173 has been inside the facility for some remedial work. We also played host to DEU (Derby Engineering Unit) who came to commence fitment of some additional CET to our fleet.
The TGS vehicle has some pedigree having been previously fitted with buffers during the early days of East Coast Class 91 operation with buffer fitted power cars. flic.kr/p/znXyyJ shows 44059 coupled to 91001.
A busy afternoon shunting the yard ready for the coming week's arrivals. For the first time both 08870 and recent arrival 08822 were pressed into use. The latter was reunited with some HST trailers as we formed up 3 FGW trailer cars to try and group some of our stock.
The ERS Mk3s with DVT 82306 were out again last night providing a load for 93001 between Crewe and Carnforth with the ETS on to provide heating in the chilly conditions.
93001 with the ERS Mk3 rake including DVT 82306 on 5Q06 Crewe to Carlisle with the ETS on, the rake was nice and toasty through the rain and fog.
A weekend of departures and new beginnings.43029 and 43006 will be leaving us shortly. However on the comeback trail are Mk2 FO 3277 / 3295 / 3351 which have been placed in the shed ready for the start of major overhaul works.

Former Caledonian Sleeper seated Mk2 BUO 9805 has received a much needed repaint. The CDL indicators have been upgraded to LED. It will be back on the mainline today as part of 5Z02.

Our latest arrival is former GWR St Philipβs Marsh pilot 08822. Already in our preferred livery and matching 08870 this will enhance our shunting capability and give us a backup as we embark on an extremely busy winter period for ERS. The loco is also equipped with TPWS and GSMR
After been on on short term hire to ROG as barrier vehicle, recently acquired Mk2 1203 was returned to Yarmouth yesterday by 37800 and 37901 which included an unplanned reversal at Ely.
Today we formed up a rake of mk2s. This consisted of a mk3 gen van - Mk2 BUO - 3x TSO - RLO - 4x FO coaches, essentially a charter set. The new arrivals need a bit more work but 7 were powered up with toasty heating. The rest had lights running and had a quick clean inside.
