We have a new webpage and new features (lots and lots) please go check out our Newsroom page. We will have regular updates to what we are doing at NativeBio nativebio.org/newsroom
The IDSov movement is becoming increasingly well known. Here I present a world renowned chemist and pharma lawyer wearing my face as evidence!
remember, if its free, it means your data is for sale.
what implications does this mean for communities fighting mining projects, pipeline projects, etc. when LLMs can perform attacks that would not have previously been possible, due to the lack of structured data or features.
Important for Tribal sovereignty in so many areas. But especially data collected with "altruistic intent" such as health research data and environmental monitoring data. These "soft" policy venues are also "soft targets" for bad actors. arxiv.org/html/2602.16...
Tribes need to read these documents and ensure skimming by companies like Epic aren't happening, for any reason (and they can craft many). www.hhs.gov/programs/top...
If you are Tribal Nation or Tribal Leader, please watch this. It has never been a more important time to know about National & International law/policy over data and intellectual property. Listen to this Spotify about the International IEEE Indigenous Data Standard. open.spotify.com/episode/0ugg...
Hey All, Check this out if you can. In addition to the Keynotes, Dr. Tuck and WashPo journalist Dana Hedgpeth, NativeBio will also be presenting! Sounds like it's gonna be a hot time in the old town, that night!
US Tribes should begin looking outside the USA for frameworks that will protect data and resources in today's dangerous economic landscape that has been enhanced with weaponized AI. ukdataservice.ac.uk/help/secure-...
Look up CODATA approaches for Data Visitation and higher protections of DATA SHARING under the multipolar world and AI platforms weaponized against the common person. codata.org/initiatives/...
Here's an oldie but a goodie. NativeBio was honored to be on @nativenewsonline.bsky.social with Levi Rickert. Here we talked about the importance of Indigenous Data Sovereignty & planning for the next pandemic and functional Public Health departments in Indian Country www.youtube.com/watch?v=79fA...
Please watch, learn and enjoy this three member panel presentation about βGettinβ free!β ELSI research is a poor proxy for freedom or equity (as you will see in these presentations). I am honored and proud to be on stage with @Kim TallBear and Elizabeth βBetsyβ Nelson. elsihub.org/video/octobe...

3/3 Here is a brief history, but lots of pieces are missing, especially the "Data Theft" that had happened before the first shovel of dirt was hoisted. In our current Big Data & Artificial Intelligence environment, your resources are at even greater risk! Look at this article about Sewer Water risks
2/3 Traditional Knowledge without you even being aware. There are companies and groups that have lived on your reservations for 30 years eroding your sovereignty and giving your data to others. Look at the T-Rex case in the Cheyenne River Sioux Nation. www.youtube.com/watch?v=zkP-...
1/3 Dear Tribal Leaders, data is so important. It is the new oil, gold, cattle, corn/soybeans. But now its personal. It has the ability to cast you in a badlight, sue you for not being "American", declassify you as Indigenous, & take your Intellectual Property www.youtube.com/watch?v=zkP-...
Thanks so much to the @pjmfdn.bsky.social McGovern Foundation We are grateful for their help and ongoing partnership for all the important things we have to do in Indian Country! Read their blog on how they are helping people become empowered by AI here: medium.com/patrick-j-mc...
Honestly, though NativeBio is internationally known, we've had trouble getting the message out on the Northern Plains. Bad Actors know this & this makes them ripe for data exploitation (see Sue T Rex vs CRST story). This young Oglala scholar says it all the correct way. Read, listen, investigate!
Hello #NCAI, NativeBio, in May 2022, sponsored SENAHD at University of North Carolina. The information sorely needed and provided to SouthEast Tribal Nations is and was part of the Indigenous Data Sovereignty Movement. #IDSov. Please take a look. uncch.hosted.panopto.com/Panopto/Page...
Dear Tribal Leaders and tribal associates at #NationalCongressOfAmericanIndians given all the legal changes around data, itβs in our interests to speak to each other while in DC
Hello National Congress of American Indians. @nativebio.bsky.social are with you in DC to explain the project below and the dangers around your data made possible by the Wild West of Artificial Intelligence
@nytimes.com shut the Comments section down to soon. Here's a sample. Smart people defended us. Others wanted to know how to support. Look up Donor-Advised Funds (DAFs). We have that and other ways to financially support us! Tell your favorite Philanthropist about us! We are righteous and visionary!
The NYTs comment section for our feature yesterday got so heated, they shut it down immediately. However, people want to donate to #IDSov. Hereβs ours: www.bonfire.com/store/native... donorbox.org/help-to-empo... www.bonfire.com/store/native... Hereβs the movementβs indigenousdata.org nativegov.org

Our current funding stream for the D4I Tribal Data Repository project has ended. The last two years have been momentous as our multi-site collaboration has created the first federally funded repository framework and cyberinfrastructure for Indigenous communities by Indigenous teams. (1/4)
As part of our mission to build educational capacity for Tribal communities, we will not deactivate our social media accounts as we hope our YouTube videos, SEEDs database, and website will continue to educate. These are linked below:
