I wish some major media outlets would do broad reports on the impact of death threats on our politics, and on who's doing them (MAGA men mostly from what I can tell), and why law enforcement appears to be doing so little about them. They are such a big (submerged) part of our politics now.

He's SO great! I just feel like they aren't writing to his full range maybe? I don't know, I can't quite figure out what's not clicking for me.

If it helps, he's still around pretty regularly in flashbacks. But yeah, he definitely brought some much-needed levity and charm to the show, and they didn't really add anything to compensate for that loss.

(From is my current mystery box show of choice, and any time I watch a different mystery box show, I think about how I'd rather be watching From--which hasn't helped me enjoy Paradise. I don't dislike Paradise! I just can't figure out if it's got the juice.)

Paradise is a very strange watch which oscillates wildly between "That was surprisingly thoughtful/well researched" and "is this show actually terrible?" and I never know where I'm gonna land.

The weird "artsy" cover songs Paradise uses in its soundtrack have always been baffling, but I think they peaked with the serious, melancholy ballad version of Elvis' Hound Dog this week.
