Uniforms, attributes, and varyings, oh my!
Okay, this is not as difficult as I feared
Sigh. Trying to psych myself up to learn WebGL shaders. I know it's important, but that doesnβt mean I want to do it
If you want to help, you can share our story, check out our work at viralemergence.org, and - if you're the one in a million person who can save our project - reach out. (At this point, my job is to fundraise for the amazing scientists I work with, so they can focus on doing some actual science! π¦ )

Learning WebGL lately, as part of getting back into interactive data viz. Tweaked a tutorial to make a DNA-tornado that now just lives on the side of my screen π

Are you excited by the idea of building global infrastructure to make pathogen sequencing more accessible, interpretable, and equitable? π§π»βπ»π§¬
My group at @swisstph.ch has an opening working with ARTIC2, @pathoplexus.org, & Loculus - read on!

π Huge thanks to everyone who joined the first virtual #morloc #hackathon yesterday!
We spent the day beta-testing the Morloc language, smoothing out install issues and running our first programs together.
π Morloc execution is now tested on Linux, MacOS, and Windows (via WSL)!
Sharing the #morloc language! Compose functions across languages under a common type system. In #bioinformatics, build better workflows by switching from the file/application-based paradigm to a native function paradigm. Looking for adventurous first adopters!

Today is going to be a long and difficult day.
I agree with Scott. This is important because:
1. This shows that cattle are susceptible to other H5N1 viruses, not just B3.13.
2. D1.1 viruses are currently transmitting really efficiently through wild birds in North America, and are very widespread.
