When the OS/2 installer is so bad it doesn’t even like boot floppies and you have to bust out the Greaseweasle as a last resort.
Final verdict: SSD on the T42 is too big. Warp 4.52 will have to be ArcaOS.

Good God—Warp 4 is up and running. The plus is that it’s much more stable than 3. Now to find a browser that’ll work.

Well.. that was “fun” - 4 hours to find and install video drivers. And that was after “Fixpack 40.” Audio, of course, just “won’t.”
In fairness, I tried installing Warp 3 under qemu. I still like the idea (since I’m on immutable Linux)—but maybe Warp 4 will play nicer.

OS/2 Warp boot screen.
Playing with OS/2 Warp v. 3 in qemu - despite having to use a console to swap disks, this was easier than VBox - more to come.

Playing with eXoDOS… but I’m on Linux. Do I use the eXo Linux patches or just write my own solution… anyway, Carmen Sandiego is always fun—RIP Lynne Thigpen.
Secure Boot is the debbol.

Where’s the lie? They’re
built like a tank, they work, they aren’t pretty: I’ve had mine for 15 years - no subscription, no moodiness - it just does what I need it to do, when I need it done.
The sleds are already showing visible cracks - I designed a jank replacement sled for the 7500 but I don’t want to go that route here unless I have to. This whole machine is an extra dry granola bar.
This old bird probably could do with a recap but my goal is complete - a basic revamped Mac for #marchintosh. The plastic in this old girl was far more brittle than the plastic in the 7500/100 I revamped last year. As a precaution, I left all drives in situ and just zip tied the BlueSCSI into place
#marchintosh may be almost over but I finally got some work done on the 8500/120 - it’s an evil case to work on: 30 year old plastic everywhere. But, got the 30 year old battery replaced and got the #bluescsi mounted - also used my jank 3d printed PCI blank for the SD card.
Swapped filament and while it’s still a pain in the a**, it’s printing!
I’ve been fighting the Ender on and off for the past few months - prints have been failing and what comes out is terrible. Just at the point of mumbling “this piece of sh…” I notice the label on the filament: PETG. Not sure where that came from, but I have been printing with PLA settings 🤦🏻♂️

Not sure if there’s an issue with the images I’m using or just the fact that I had a very old SD card and it may be the issue - she finally sped up after a bit.
Motherboard is a hot mess - getting this open with brittle plastic is going to be fun.
Happy #Marchintosh! Never enough free time - just getting to this project 9500 - she boots! Slowly. Using an image from my old 7900/100 and no keyboard mouse. This old girl is a mess - needs cleaned, batt, and some careful work - very brittle plastic. Better late than never…
This reminds me that I still need to watch “Vengeance Most Fowl.”

Late to the party - Happy Marchintosh! This month’s goal - get this bugger up and running again. It’s good to have goals; time dictates, though.

Game night?
Somehow this was on my Amazon wishlist; somehow it is now in my basement.
Dear Canada and Mexico,
We’re so, so sorry.

Found this last night in NSO - strangely unique, challenging, and fun. It’d be neat to see a modern iteration of the ideas present in this game.
Holding a Quake III LAN party with 20-somethings. Challenge to find the oldest thing I still own that plays QIII. From G4 to Dreamcast… technically… the Saturn has Quake… just not Q3… living like it’s 1997.

It's literal virtue-signalling, but I enjoyed the little dopamine hit of uninstalling CoPilot from my computer
Play more retro games. Especially the ones you may have missed for one reason or another. The more retro the better. We wouldn't even have new games if it weren't for these.
