Toronto Hydro email announcing outage updates on Xitter
Ummm... what? No.
Read the room.
I just got this π in an email from Toronto Hydro. They're using the "X" platform to report power outages in Toronto.
Seriously?!?
X has become a toxic platform, and should not be used by credible public institution.
Anyone else concerned that @torontohydro.bsky.social will be posting their outage updates only on the Nazi site? So frustrated with public services and government continuing to use that racist and dangerous platform. @evansolomon.bsky.social #toronto #socialmedia @juliedabrusin.bsky.social

Keep this in mind when people claim cars mean business β closing Central #Madrid to cars over holidays resulted in a 9.5% boost in retail spending on its main shopping street: STUDY.
There was also a 71% drop in air pollution.

Movie review from Guardian on Melania.
Umβ¦bit bold to call the story I broke on Tuesday a βStar analysisβ with zero credit to me!
This is such a bummer. I worked really hard on this one.
Catherine O'Hara is taken, while Donald J. Trump still wheezes amongst us. The Lord's aim is notoriously sloppy.

One of my most βpinch-meβ moments was working with Catherine OβHara on the Audible adaptation of Anne of Green Gables, directed by Megan Follows. Catherine was so kind, so present, so funny, so heartbreaking, so warm, so talented, so vibrant. I will forever treasure that time with her.
A move that doesn't support openness or democracy

βTo be absolutely clear, and I said this to the president. I meant what I said in Davos,β PM Carney said to reporters on Parliament Hill, Tuesday
When asked specifically whether he did retract parts of the speech, as Bessent claimed, Carney said βno.β

A bird's-eye view of a former Auschwitz II-Birkenau camp showing a wide dirt pathway flanked by parallel rows of barbed-wire fences. Groups of visitors walk along the path, surrounded by the remnants of brick structures and barracks, now reduced to foundations. Green grass contrasts with the somber history of the site, as the path leads toward a guard tower in the distance.
Auschwitz was at the end of a process. We must remember that it did not start from gas chambers.
This hatred gradually developed: from ideas, words, stereotypes & prejudice through legal exclusion, dehumanization & escalating violence... to systematic and industrial murder.
Auschwitz took time.
If you believe the polls, Donald Trump has an approval rating of under 40%. America is hitting the streets against his gestapo.
Doug Ford's approval rating... 34%.
But because of the ball washers and bootlickers of #CdnMediaColludes, we're sitting quietly while being robbed and disenfranchised.
iβm here again to point out that Doug Ford thinks itβs fantastic that weβre equipping ICE
Alex Pretti, the man shot by ICE in Minneapolis, appears to have previously worked with the federal government at the VA.
There is a photo of him on the VA website, where heβs cited as part of a medical research team.

A masked ICE officials with a 5 year old child
This guy went to work today, put a mask on, kidnapped a 5 year old child, and then used him as bait so both he and his father could be sent behind bars
Another UK one: All mouth and no trousers.
crazy that the website that I randomly decided to put together at 10AM yesterday has had over 25k unique visitors in 24 hours.
please keep sharing with your networks.
How very dare you.
These terrified, pandering sycophants.
The Guuardian's running fact-check of Trump's Davos remarks is essential viewing. He hardly utters a sentence that isn't an easily verifiable lie. www.theguardian.com/world/live/2...
This is fucking chilling.
NEW: A former staffer at the centre of the Greenbelt scandal is taking Ontarioβs transparency watchdog to court. Heβs fighting a summons to be interviewed under oath over his use of personal emails for government work. #OnPoli

One of the hecklers was Al Gore, the former US vice-president, according to two executives present. The US commerce department said: βOnly one person booed, and it was Al Gore.β
Trump's commerce secretary Howard Lutnick was heckled while speaking at a dinner at Davos. Christine Lagarde, head of the European Central Bank, walked out of the event. Al Gore (!!!) openly booed him.
In an era of great power rivalry, Canada is choosing to be principled and pragmatic. To name reality, to act together, and to build what we claim to believe in.
