I am unsure how technically accurate it is, but from a gut instinct a fair way to describe LLMs is that it’s a 3D printer for thoughts, but is not the same thing as something that does your thinking for you.

“A person made this” is impressive and sometimes awe inspiring, “a person got a machine to make this” can be clever but is rarely, like, amazing
