Started working on a new spoon tonight. This one is alder - one of four BeaverCraft spoon blanks I bought recently. I’m using them for practice. I still plan on making spoons from greenwood as well. #spooncarving #whittling #woodcarving

My first #knifemod / blade reprofiling. I watched some tutorials and used my Skerper Pocket Stone and BeaverCraft Honing Paddle. Got my first #Morakniv Classic 1/0. It’s a great knife and I love the stained birch handle. I prefer leather sheaths, so I got a Brisa Bobtail 80 sheath for it and it fits perfectly. I’m adding this knife to my #woodcarving kit and moving my Morakniv 511 to my bushcraft kit instead.

Nice! BeaverCraft has a lot of good beginner sets. I wanna get one of their carving axes.

I really like that it has two blades. So useful and easy to drop in a pocket if you want to whittle on the go.

#woodcarving Second attempt - the new on at the bottom. I’m not sure which one is better (or less bad), but I did try out a few different blades and a gouge on the new one.

Yeah, the Detail Jack only has that one (detail) blade. On the other hand the blade locks, so that might be a selling point for some people. Also, it’s cheaper than the Whittlin’ Jack.
