Yeah, I've never done canvas but I assume custom is an option.
I sometimes like to do weird things like golden rectangles that don't match any standard print sizes, but custom mats take care of that (and even let them work with standard frame sizes, which is nice because custom frames are much more expensive).
Oh, if you're getting prints on paper you can deal with the print size problem by just ordering them with extra white space in whichever dimension is too big and then trimming them (or just matting them), that's what I always do for weird proportions.
(More specifically, more sky to the left, and maybe a bit to the top, would not hurt, and less definitely wouldβthe sky is what's giving the feeling of action.)
That crop looks pretty good to me. If that's already cropped, I might even go with less of a crop, but definitely not more.

Minneapolis isn't an especially sweary place but there are so many houses that have homemade "FUCK ICE" signs and I've had multiple conversations with parents about how we're okay with our kids using that word in this context because sometimes it IS okay to swear and this is one of those times.

If it were resin then alcohol would do it, but I strongly suspect it isn't. Might be worth a shot anyway though, as it's generally pretty safe. My impression is that there are all sorts of different things used for coatings, which makes it hard to recommend a specific solvent.
