And every day I wake up to what powerful bigots and their loyal followers are trying to do to dehumanize me and take away everything I hold dear.

And yet I work to leave a legacy of entertainment, joy, and kindness.

I am embarrassed when I eat at a restaurant and don't order a beverage to save money but I shouldn't be because the waiter can't possibly know how badly I want a Dr. Pepper.
