I think the Endwalker patch MSQ showed me how much I was playing for the story. Once the main Hydalyn/Zodiark arc ended, I had no investment anymore. To me, the game was finished and we were just wasting our time going to the void etc.

I think it’s a combo of the story falling off and drifting apart from my FC friends. Maybe it’s all a me thing. I just had zero reason to log in.

I’m bummed that as someone who has played FFXIV since 1.0 up through Endwalker, I have had zero desire to play it since. I don’t have a “home” MMO anymore.

The game just got so repetitive. I couldn’t even make it through the post-Endwalker patch MSQ.
