Speaking of constitutional amendments. What’s the current status of the petition campaign to enact a state constitutional amendment 👇 ballotpedia.org/Ohio_Voting_... I don’t live in the state. I was simply curious as there hasn’t been any recent news on signature..

And while we're on the topic of AI, take a look at my recently published brief essay that is critique and cautionary thought-piece on AI and advancing technology and its affect on American democracy.

THIS is the Bad Place!
I def felt that about the Fall cycle and last year it felt like there was basically no Fall cycle
Do we think it could also be the timing being crunched all into early February now? Can’t be good to have everyone dumping their stuff at once, and once a year.
Thank you friend. That makes sense. Though in a really depressing way.
I heard from a friend at a top school that their law review had received an absurd number of submissions (even more absurd than usual), they think because law profs are now using AI to write articles. :( if that's widespread it certainly could be lessening the likelihood of all articles getting read
Hello friends. I’m hearing from some wonderful junior folks that this a horrible submission cycle. Is anyone noticing something strange or aware of a shift? Thanks for anything you can share here or via DM.
ICYMI: If the Supreme Court weakens Voting Rights Act protections against racial discrimination in redistricting, it could usher in the largest-ever drop in representation by Black members of Congress
Already registered to vote?
You sure?
Eligible voters can be removed from lists if they have moved, changed their name or haven't voted in a while.
You can find the links for checking your status, plus registration deadlines for the state- and territory-wide primary elections, at npr.org/vote
Ain't that the truth!
And let's start with an Amendment XVIII, a comprehensive, anti-voter suppression, affirmative right to vote.
We’re gonna need a bigger reconstruction.
Every American over the age of ten knows this is an attempt to suppress voting.
the new Republican talking point is that it's insulting to complain about requiring women to show their birth certificate and passport in order to vote because they're smart enough to figure it out
BREAKING: The Department of Education has ended its directive that attempted to restrict diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts in schools nationwide.
This is a victory for academic freedom and education equity.
Make no mistake: The pipeline of Democratic talent coming out of statehouses is undeniable, and both states are on our target map this November.

Meanwhile, in North Carolina and Texas, current and former Dem state legislative stars swept some of the highest-profile victories of the night!
James Talarico has been serving in the Texas House since 2018, while Roy Cooper served in the North Carolina legislature for nearly 15 years.
In North Carolina, GOP State Senate Leader Phil Berger’s race in SD-26 remains too close to call. Keep in mind, Berger is considered “the most powerful Republican politician in the state,” and he’s struggling to hold onto his seat despite a record $10 million spent to protect his bid.
Also in Arkansas, Senate Majority Leader Blake Johnson lost his primary in the safe Republican seat of SD-21, dealing a major blow to GOP leadership in the state legislature.
On Tuesday, DLCC Spotlight candidate and Rep.-elect Alex Holladay flipped Arkansas’ HD-70 with a double-digit swing!
This marks the first time a Democrat will hold a House seat in this part of northern Little Rock in over a decade.
State Democrats have been winning and overperforming in elections across the country since Trump’s 2024 election, and this week was no different as we delivered our 27th seat flip of the cycle.
But let’s just say it’s a little bit difficult to be a state Republican right now… 🧵
Because of this extreme law passed by the GOP-led Kansas legislature, trans folks in the state have now had their driver’s licenses revoked.
The cruelty is the point.
As Republicans work to make it harder to vote, Georgia Democrats are fighting to ensure their constituents’ rights are protected, and they can keep making their voices heard at the ballot box.
Arkansas Rep.-elect Holladay’s special election victory marks our second seat flip of the year!
State Dems have consistently overperformed in special elections in red states, while Republicans have still flipped NO seats since the 2024 election.
As state Dems continue to overperform in special elections and flip seats blue across the country, the GOP is worried about their chances in November.
Considering they’re struggling to even win races that should be easy victories for them, they should be.
OPINION | What happens next, though, is where the good news of a democracy’s “checks and balances” can go bad, writes Eleanor Clift.
I do not traffic in or promote conspiracy theories. But I also refuse to turn a blind eye to what is plainly happening to our democracy.

An example from one of Abbott's ads. www.youtube.com/watch?v=xVyp...
GOP Gov. Greg Abbott is meddling in the Democratic primary for Senate. His ads tie Jasmine Crockett—who is NOT his opponent—to AOC, Bernie Sanders, Kamala Harris, and Zohran Mamdani, a not-so-subtle way to boost her and help Republicans get their preferred opponent.
