Also 3-4 independent and interesting restaurants, affordable clothing stores and high-quality personal goods - it's literally hell on earth once you throw in the plentiful bike parking and pedestrian-friendly speed limits

Happy to support you in spreading this rumor!
You are attributing to lack of enforcement what is better understood as lack of healthcare (mental health + drug treatment), housing/city services (trash, unhoused), inequitable economic conditions (robbery/drug dealing), and above all else, the availability of guns, especially assault weapons.
A bedraggled set of the first three books in the earthsea trilogy by Ursula LeGuin
starting . . . now
I had the right characters, but the wrong point in the story - and a good reminder that binge reading all of those would be a good comfort read this weekend
Ah, that sounds right (but I haven't read that one more than twice, vs ToA which I read maybe 3x/year from age 11-15)
Tombs of Atuan?
One other subtle flag - nobody has a company badge for "uber eats." If you work for Uber, you have the same badge regardless of which products you work on - people move around frequently in a company of that size, and the strategy for years has been to move towards increased integration.
company store is the answer you were looking for

WTAF. there is no way for the US to lead without investment in education, healthcare & housing to make this country one in which people have the skills and knowledge to innovate and the security to make that innovation possible. The current administration has set American innovation back 100 years.
Not necessarily - lots of ops roles like accounting for example would already be covered in a large company. Engineers usually get offers, but the retention bonuses are not that huge for most people. And if you paid for options, those are now worthless and you don't get the money back.
This has always been the case for most startup exits in the past 1
~10 years (for example, eero selling to Amazon - I think the average engineer got about enough cash for a used Subaru)
Still not as good as having an iPhone small enough to actually hold in one hand, though
@fifaworldcup26.bsky.social might need to remind him that they bribed him specifically in order to allow soccer fans (and teams) in, not keep them out
It's a great museum! Far more inclusive and representative in the way it presents the history of rail in America than most museums are for their subjects. Also you can go into the old train cars, which is just really fun.
I'm curious to hear your take on Biosil and similar products which are specifically not collagen but claim to help increase collagen production
This was a treat to read - you should add it to your LinkedIn bio π
"I found Dr Garrett in general a straightforward witness who gave a clear account of himself under sustained challenge in the witness box."

This is sad - but as a cat lover, I think it's important to note that the lifespan of any cat allowed outside is going to be notably shorter (3-5 yrs) than an indoor cat (12-18 yrs) in any circumstances. Private cars & rideshare kill cats every day in SF, we haven't banned those.
Waymo is much better for cyclists than any human driver; they don't get sleepy or aggressive or look at their phones. Pricing is more reflective of reality than rideshare; early cheap uber prices were subsidized by VCs.
(Disclosure: I work for Google but not Waymo + ran safety research for Uber)
Too often, designers (& UXRs) get stuck on "this is our magical process" vs "this is the shared outcome we are all contributing to." Once you stop being precious about methods, it's easier to be a partner; that is how you build the trust that enables influence over the choices organizations make.
Why doesn't it apply to El Cerrito? There are 2 BART stations there.
It's ok to just want to live someplace where you can be friends with people who do the cool things and tell you about them
I think Finland is basically all granite under a thin layer of soil, so acquisition and transport costs are relatively low - they even use decomposed granite instead of salt to manage street ice in the winter
I am holding out for the folding one because that is only supposed to be 5.5" (iPhone 10 size) when folded, which means it will actually fit in my pocket or a cute little purse
There's also a basic ergonomic factor - I can barely hold a Pro version of anything
When I was pregnant in 2020, SF public parks had the most reliable clean bathrooms of anywhere I went (and I had to go to a lot of bathrooms).
You should really be getting her Honey Butter Fried Chicken instead
Somehow, when I first heard this story I didn't expect the hero to be a white bro wearing a pink polo & khaki shorts.
you'd be better off with the @oaklandballers.bsky.social on a Saturday afternoon
