Mary Dillwyn (1816-1906) was a true pioneer in photography.
She pushed the boundaries of what could be considered as worthy subjects to photograph, so her work offers an insight into the domestic lives of women & children.
This is her self-portrait, the famous first smile & snowman kown on pictures.
