I just voted to end the illegal war with Iran. Republicans blocked it. We have to keep fighting tooth and nail to prevent this from becoming another endless war in the Middle East.

Trump is ‘waging an illegal war, and he has no plan to end it,’ Senator Markey says
Massachusetts Senator Ed Markey said Tuesday that President Trump’s war on Iran “must end now,” calling the offensive illegal and based on bald lies to the American people.
“I just left a classified briefing on Iran,” said Markey, a Malden Democrat, in a video message posted to X shortly after 8 p.m. “And it only confirmed what we already knew. Donald Trump is waging an illegal war, and he has no plan to end it.”
“Today, he said we attacked Iran because he had a feeling,” Markey said, an apparent reference to the president’s comment that he believed Iran was going to attack first. “But we know the truth. Trump is lying about Iran’s nuclear capacity. He’s lying about Iran’s missile capabilities.”
Donald Trump is waging an illegal war with Iran based on lies, and American servicemembers have already lost their lives because of it. We need to end this war now.

AFA-CWA Endorses Ed Markey
“AFA is proud to endorse Senator Markey for reelection. This endorsement of Ed Markey by our Flight Attendant union is also a personal one for me,” said Sara Nelson, International President of the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA, AFL-CIO. “I’ll never forget standing in the middle of our crisis room at the Hilton Logan in the wake of 9/11, grieving the loss of people I love and trying to make sense of our new world, when Ed walked in without fanfare to listen, grieve with us, and commit to Never Forget. He fights every day like our pain is his pain. He demands results because real people fuel his fight. He fought with that same conviction to secure the historic worker’s first relief during COVID that kept two million aviation workers connected to our paychecks and healthcare while capping executive pay and banning stock buybacks. Ed Markey fights for the working class and the people who need a champion. He stands with us. And we stand with him.”
Grateful to earn the endorsement of the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA and my good friend, @flyingwithsara.bsky.social. The @afacwa.org organizes, fights, and wins. Together, we'll keep fighting for aviation workers and their families across Massachusetts and the nation.

“We don't believe that there's anything to hide when it comes to American history.”
Massachusetts Sen. Ed Markey has long been involved in the issue. Last summer, he joined Black history experts for a walking tour of Boston’s historic sites.
“I’m animated by the history that Massachusetts created, and I feel a responsibility to protect and to further educate our country,” he said. “Censoring history is an act of violence.”
Markey called the lawsuit the “highest form of patriotism.”
“MAGA supporters are not just trying to rewrite policy. They are attempting to rewrite the truth, and we must stand up,” he said. “If we don’t learn from the struggles that is the movements of our past, we will repeat the same mistakes over and over again.”
Donald Trump is trying to rewrite history—but we won't let him. No more violent censorship of our past.

Screenshot of headline reading: Ring Ends Deal to Link Neighborhood Cameras After Super Bowl Ad Backlash
A commercial about a lost dog being reunited with his family ignited concerns that a “Search Party” feature posed privacy risks. Ring parted ways with the tech company Flock Safety.
Screenshot of article reading:
Senator Ed Markey of Massachusetts on Wednesday wrote to Amazon’s chief executive, Andrew Jassy, calling for the company to stop using facial recognition technology with its products.
For years, Mr. Markey has been critical of Ring’s data privacy practices and its relationship with law enforcement.
In a statement on Friday, he called the end of the partnership “an important step in guarding against the ever-expanding network of surveillance technologies in this country.”
Organizing works. I'm glad that Amazon has abandoned its partnership with Flock, but this fight isn't over. Amazon must end facial recognition in its Ring doorbells and end the nonstop expansion of surveillance tech.

North Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters
ENDORSES ED MARKEY
“On behalf of our membership, I'm proud to endorse Senator Ed Markey for re-election,” said Joe Byrne, Executive Secretary-Treasurer of the North Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters. “Senator Markey has shown how commitment and experience can be used to benefit union workers in Massachusetts. He has stood by our side in securing infrastructure funding and protecting high standards on the job. He led the fight to protect workers' rights to organize and engage in collective bargaining. He knows what it takes for a working-class union family to survive because he comes from one himself. He's never forgotten where he came from or who he is fighting for, and that makes him the right Senator for union carpenters.”
Carpenters are builders in the truest sense—building the future of Massachusetts from cutting-edge research facilities to new housing developments and green energy projects. I am grateful for their endorsement and look forward to our continued work together.
