I would be very hard pressed to imagine they all haven’t been given a gag order from Penske himself over the track layout.
Get them behind a closed door and off record and I’m willing to bet they all think it’s shit.
Where they have it, traffic is blocked off half the time anyway. If you’re just visiting DC for the museums on race weekend without knowing of the event, you’re kind of screwed. DC residents won’t miss out on much.
Both sides are basically the same from the outside. The Mall side has a wavy entrance way that would be hidden by the catch fence anyway.
Honestly the weather looks amazing for the event.
From what I would figure, pit in would be the east bound lanes of Pennsylvania Ave coming from 3rd while the race circuit would take the west lanes.
My “guess” is they will set up the flag stand in the middle of 3rd directly in front of the Capitol.
Thats how I would do it…

No battery power goes into the turbos now. Also the electric drive isn’t available until 50 kph.
Smaller turbo spins up faster and only limits at high output.
Gary Andersen goes over it on The Race’s F1 Tech pod and describes how the smaller turbo is beneficial. Ferrari likely determined power input for the turbo from the MGU-H and built the new one to compensate.
The Ferrari turbo significantly helps on the start.
