๐ My goodness, it's been so long since I switched in and actually remembered to come here. And of course I switch in to do the most boring thing ever - look at jobs
๐ My goodness, it's been so long since I switched in and actually remembered to come here. And of course I switch in to do the most boring thing ever - look at jobs
๐ Switchin in right before we meet with our psychiatrist is probably the most terrifying thing that's ever happened to me
๐ Having a brain is so inconvenient sometimes

๐ Feelin absolutely miserable as I wallow in this wig
๐ Hahaha! In my defense, I've never had a whiskey sour
Bottles sitting on a table in front of a glass of yellow liquid The bottles are lemon juice, Absolut vodka, agave syrup, and Bacardi lime
๐ For a first try at making a cocktail, this turned out pretty good
Anyways, my point is just that these are already complicated things to deal with as a singlet. But when living as a system they become that much more complex
You shouldn't shame anyone for struggling with these things in general, but try to take extra care when dealing with system members ๐
Then, there's the topic of sexuality
Luckily for our system, the host is always bisexual lol And it appears that most of the rest of us are as well, some leaning more one way or another, but not generally minding overall
However, this isn't true for all systems. And can cause confusion as well
Then, on top of that, we all view what we look like differently. So when coming to the front and seeing what the body actually looks like, this can cause a feeling of disconnect from oneself and a desire to change the body to look more like how you imagine you look inside
There are also men in the system, many of whom do not feel that they are trans men, but rather, feel that they are cis men living in an afab body
There are also all different flavors of non-binary people within the system
Naturally, this can cause the host to have gender confusion
For example, I am a woman. Just a regular cis woman. However, I live in the body of a transmasculine genderqueer person
While Melancholy is interested in pursuing masculinizing treatments, I am not so interested in pursuing that kind of care. But it's deeper than that as well
๐ I wanted to take a moment to talk about dysmorphia, dysphoria, and sexuality as a system
These topics come up a lot for systems, as many of us share a body with people who have different genders, sexualities, and body types than we do
This can cause all sorts of confusion and even distress
๐ the face is shaved and I've tried to order a refill for the testosterone
Now to do some chores and learn about making cocktails
๐ I am going to shave our face because we desperately need it
And, although I don't care too much for taking testosterone, I'm going to go ahead and see if maybe they sent the prescription to the wrong pharmacy

Melancholy was kind enough to trim the leg hair for us though, and is allowing us to express our femininity
Ideally we'll reach a space where we all feel comfortable, but that might just be a pipe dream when sharing the same body with so many different people

I've gotten to learn that I don't like soda
I've also noticed that while I, myself, am a woman, the body still responds awkwardly to being called a "girl"
I feel my own euphoria as well as an awkward cringe lower down
Maybe we all would've been a part of some greater whole if we hadn't split, but we DID split. I feel that ignoring each of our personhood is akin to some type of cruelty. If I am not a person, then no one in this system is a person. I'm not part of a person, I am my own person.

I strongly disagree with the idea that I am a part of the host. Just because the host spends the most time in the body doesn't make them more important or more "real" than the rest of us. For fuck's sake, I could be the host if things were a bit different -

The character Muscle Man from the show The Regular Show, most famous for his catchphrase wherein he would set up a "Your Mom" joke except with the punchline "My Mom" instead
You know who ELSE was a dedicated labor organizer with absolutely otherworldly pussy game?
