Yeah, this is the anti-tower group.
I'm on the DSNC board and we've gotten to appreciate several of this organization's provocative artworks over the past few months

Congrats on the longer character limit!
Will you be writing regularly for them, or is this taking the place of your (very enjoyable) medium blogging?
What's bizarre is Jake campaigned on "transit oriented development" and has a pretty solid record in favor of housing development! No idea what these guys were thinking
This is "Davis Square Village", they're focused on opposing the Copper Mill project.
I think at one of the debates Jake gave a politician-y "I can't say if I support or oppose the project until I hear more" which DSV interpreted as opposition, now they're upset he's open to it
Not to spoil anything, but seriously go watch "Resurrection" by Bi Gan
Obviously we're early on in the process, but any idea what the negotiating timeline will look like?
Also, any thoughts if you want the city staff or the Davis Square Neighborhood Council to lead the negotiations?
Excuse me, this is Teele Square Pit erasure!
I really appreciate everything you write on the city's budget. I'd be excited to read more on where the money comes from + the impact of new development, versus what major infrastructure obligations we have coming due in the future
Which precincts are still outstanding? I guess something in Ward 7?
This is the Ebi Sushi / axe throwing building
Thanks for the quick response and the excellent local coverage!
Some people who are affiliated with SHC were there, but as far as I can tell they were not asked to speak
A correction, I'm the person who asked the final question about the zoning change to allow the expansion of the existing homeless shelter in Davis.
I'm not affiliated with SHC (just a random guy), but I was inspired by the meeting to sign up to volunteer
Is there some weird double inflation adjustment going on there? Housing costs / income has obviously gone up, but those numbers don't seem right:

She didn't say it as a slip of the tongue, she wrote it in response to the "governance" question: www.abettercambridge.org/25quest
Oh, hi Itamar! I'm a former ABC member (now across the border), we briefly met a few times.
2/3 of the city is NR (max = triple decker). IZ kicks in at 4 units, and is 20%. Also, the first unit is set at a deeply affordable rate / the highest subsidy, so my understanding is you want to encourage ~10 units to get appreciable development.
Also true! I think AHMA is working on single-stair, but that's a state level thing.
Per Chris's hyper-local focus, Somerville can raise taxes and build our own social housing... But that's tough because of prop 2.5.
Or, we can change our zoning to encourage apartments
Yeah, I suppose that's not too different than the stand-up bit about shooting off a bunch of guns to keep the rent down. Not exactly my preferred approach!
Necessary but insufficient is totally right.
I'd love to see Somerville figure out how to get more development that triggers inclusionary zoning. Building subsidized housing is expensive, and our 20% IZ seems like our most available tool for getting it
I believe RSS wants Rafaella working the concessions, but it seems like the organization sees him as a starter
If you can keep two of Duran, Wilyer, and Roman, who do you let go?
Happy birthday!
Two positive memories: you helped me get my bike, which I adore!
And hanging out after the 2021 Cambridge election and getting excited about the results.
Now that Vaughn Grissom has sort of been a bust with both Atl and the Sox, is there any hope can he reclaim his value in AAA? Or will he have to show it in the majors? Also, I assume his chances to make the team are Bad?
They have all the masa colors to do 4th of July Tacos!
For anyone looking for tips: Masienda's masa tastes 10% better than grocery store masa, but I find it to be twice as hard to work with.
For trouble with sticking: use hot water, aim for a slightly dryer dough, and let it rest before pressing
I'm sure nobody's asked you yet, but what would a Crochet extension look like?
