Something I forgot to add to this - an even better way to help influence the culture of a convention is by staffing it.

Some shitty people are capable of volunteering at cons - it has happened and it's hard to prevent when they're already stretched thin. Help out!

I can't promise they'll take every step that is recommended to them or that action can be taken on every report, but if you care about safety in con spaces, you have the power to contribute.

Please do so - vague or exaggerated social media posts only hurt the con's ability to address things.

And if you're in favor of some kind of policy change that will make you and others feel safer, there is a feedback survey! They *love* feedback! They listen to feedback - I have 'seen' changes made in tandem with feedback!

But they gotta have it, first!

Last thing I'll say on it - it's not just a belief, I *know* that HarmonyCon takes safety incredibly seriously.

If you witnessed harassment during the con, especially from any staff, PLEASE report that directly to the chairs or any HC staff member you feel is trustworthy so it can be addressed.

I barely have words that would describe this experience for me. This year's @harmonycon.bsky.social will forever hold so many amazing memories. Being able to see old friends and make new ones was such a special experience. I love and miss you all so much <3
