Guess is time again for sharing our Thief experiences: First time I played was in late High School. I was getting into ImmSims alongside other classic 90's PC games. Thief 1 & 2 keep me up during lockdown. I'll never forget Lord Bafford's Manor, Shipping and Receiving, Blackmail, Trail of Blood.

'Thief Gold' - 1999
A large, long underground brick chamber, with many foreboding dark doorways leading into it. Grooves are cut into the gently sloping floor to guide the flow of water. A man in black stands in the middle distance.
A dutch angle of a vaulted space, with a gantry running over a tunnel entrance. A ladder to daylight is visible. Policemen point flashlights down the tunnel towards the viewer, while a running man enters the room from a higher doorway.
A long brick tunnel with light streaming in from the far end. A solitary figure stands silhouetted against the entrance.
A vaulted brick chamber with water flowing through the lower half. A man dashes across gantries suspended from the ceiling.
watched The Third Man for research. I think all movies should dedicate this much screen time to sewer infrastructure.

Amazing! New Bluesky profile banner art.
The warehouses' yard. It's a freezing night out there.
My new Thief 2 Fan Mission, Reflection in Red, is out! I am very proud of this one, and it is by far my most ambitious work in the Dark Engine to date. www.ttlg.com/forums/showt...
This is fanart to the game 'Thief the Dark Project', an exactly to the mission named 'The Sword' Illustration shows a fantasy stonework corridor with few entrances. From left to right: a nighgtime trapeze corridor with strong beam of light coming from crooked window. A giant head of a woman with tint of green and vines hiding within her skin and hair. A woven pattern? stained glass? in green and orange depicting a leaf. A masonwork platform in the pure black absence leading to the corridor made of unidentified greenery. An upside down fantasy red room with pillar looking like a tree. Between the colorful pattern of the wall and the void 'room' there is anonymous man in simple dark fantasy tunic and hood leaning and cautiously looking at the void roo,. The mentioned earlier head of a woman with sinister smile of scheming eunuch observes the man. On the blue-cream tiled floor lays ridiculously long sword, levitating. There is also big mouse trap with small human skull and fractured bones scattered around. There is blackmold contamination in the picture. The corners of the image has bits of floor, stonewalls, and roof tilted around 45'. The colors are intense but semi dark in value. Its hard to say where the lightsource is. The lion does not concern himself with where the lightsource in his drawing is.

If you're a GreenManGaming Gold XP member, it's $23.99.
This looks terrific!
Continuing T2X. One of the things I like most about it is that its new setting, Sunnyport, is quite distinct from The City in terms of mood. Sunnyport has wider streets with shorter buildings, and is snowed in when you first arrive. The game really sells how cold it feels.
Well I've started yet another playthrough of Thief 2X: Shadows of the Metal Age, along with the other members of Feuillade. I've always loved T2X, despite the fact it's too easy.
Stellar production value for an early 2000s mod, too. I very highly recommend checking it out if you haven't yet.
A screenshot of a dark hallway in Thief: The Dark Project
Thief: The Dark Project (1998). This game made light and sound core mechanics, where shadows protect you and sounds can give you away. Plus, the sound design made each room feel tense.
The castle's basement is all about vaulted ceilings and gothic archways. This particular hall is white stone and lit by two torches, with alcoves for statues on each side. In the middle is clutter, including a rack with three halberds.
Since I'm getting close to the cells limit for my Thief 2 WIP I have to rely on meshes quite a lot, especially for the basement.
Also, I shot some pictures of the church near the office, and made a texture from one of its doorways. The texture is a first pass, I need to tweak it further.
This is a large foyer, all clad in white marble. There are two large, bending staircases on either side. In the middle is a circular overlook. The room is bathed in the moonlight coming from the left, and illumated with gas lights and candles.
The grand staircase (this was a fucking nightmare to make)
