Joining an established 501c3 as a chief officer (secretary) in DFW called Trans Pride Initiative. Genuinely so honored to be offered the position and I hope this will allow me to help even more trans people in NTX and beyond.
The next four years (at least) will be corps, businesses, all across the country quietly removing their support and protections for trans people. Especially those based in red states. They give zero fucks about trans people. Why bother when you know there are no consequences?

A type of bad faith criticism I hear a lot in dsa is people saying “actually it’s best practice to..” As if they are not still speaking from a point of subjectivity. They never say WHY it’s “best practice.”It means “My way is better but I don’t want to have to explain myself just shut up and listen”

I will continue learning and growing with my fellow, senior chapter members who have already taught me so much not just about organizing but about how to be a good person that can be relied on.
Lastly, I will try to better gauge my limits so that when I show up, I am showing up 100%.
I plan to run for chair in 2025 and continue trying to make the Dallas metro a place where socialist politics are a viable strategy to power and influence to change conditions for the working class.
I WILL do everything I possibly can to keep trans and other queer people out of harm’s way.
I will further step up in my role as an SC member in my chapter. One thing I can absolutely say honestly is that the most wonderful part of DSA for me is my chapter. I’m sure everybody feels this way but I really do believe ntx is the best chapter in the country with the warmest friendliest people.
I will not waste my time and capacity in spaces where I am aggressively unwelcome, no matter how much I care about that issue. Instead I will go where my work and time are appreciated and valued and where people can be relied upon to be honest, forthcoming, and just like nice lol I like nice people.
Yeah I said it wasn’t happening. All this time later I understand that it was an attempt to neutralize me and once I became unconvincable the nature and tenor of our relationship changed drastically. All of the sudden I am public enemy #1.
SO in 2025 here’s what I will change based off experience
I was hounded by one specific caucus that shall remain nameless. Over and over I declined to join and when I told this person that I didn’t think it was a good fit because of how much I disagree with their approach, I was told, (paraphrasing) “we need people like you to shake things up sometimes.”
