you know these are areas that a spiritual successor can really capitalize on but instead the 3d ones just choose to forgo what pokemon is doing entirely in favor of some BoTW + Fortnite thing, i dont really get it.

The actual combat and creature catching is really fun! it's just that there isn't a whole lot to do outside of that. Building relationships with your pokemon is pretty bland, there's not a lot of activities to do with them, obvious stuff like flying with big fly types are randomly possible-

I dont really get this idea that Pokemon needs a massive BoTW rework, the problem with these games is not the creature catching or battling systems, it's everything around it

These games are about capturing pocket monsters and making them fight, what about a realtime strategy where you control the actions of the monster you sent out oh wait we already got that, it was Z-A

I actually don't even fuck with Pokemon + Fortnite gunplay in the first place, why are we getting more games that are trying to do that
