Illustration of Show and Tell in a 1st grade classroom. A girl is in front of the room presenting her pet dinosaur, a real life Stegosaurus, who is too big to fit through the door frame. The class lizard is shocked by this massive lizard.

Congrats on the debut and release date!
More than half of a canvas square covered in mostly green random improvised embroidery, including some beads, mirrors, tatting. In the upper left hand corner is a bit of yellow embroidery
Update on my current work in progress #EmbroideryArt #FiberArt #NeuroArt - All improvised - just one square out of 30 of a giant brain piece
This is stunning!
What a cool project to take on!
That's amazing! Congrats!
That's awesome! Congrats!
A2: I completed a first draft of a dummy I've been struggling with for roughly 6 years. This draft was the first time I had a complete version of the story with beginning, middle and end. #kidlitart
Very exciting and promising!
A1: This time last year I was experiencing a creative block that had been going on for months. I finally managed to push through it in May and have been slowly back to illustrating since then. #kidlitart #kidlitartchat
May we all find the light in the darkness.
Tonight we light the 1st candle as an act of hope. Tomorrow, we light 2, and each night consumes a bit more darkness as light is passed, generation to generation. The 1st candle is not alone- we have the Shamas. We have each other. #chanukah #hannukah #kidlit #kidlitart #jewishart

Just added several to my goodreads to read list. Excited to check them out. Thanks for sharing
My hill: kids are naturally creative and artistic. You give kids paper and something to draw with and you will get the wildest shit ever created. It's an actual tragedy & horrifically anti-human to be shoving AI on them and encouraging them to stunt that essential part of themselves.
Whoops, just saw the βgraphic novelβ part of your post (was wondering why I didnβt recognize any of the other titles people were recommending). None of these are graphic novels; just really good middle grade fantasy series.
There are so many good series, but here are some of the fantasy ones Iβve loved:
FABLEHAVEN and then DRAGONWATCH by Brandon Mull
WINGS OF FIRE by Tui T Sutherland
RANGERβS APPRENTICE by John Flanagan
WING & CLAW by Linda Sue Park
NEVERMOOR by Jessica Townsend
Illustration of a blue flying horse, containing the text β#Pictures Mean Business.β To the right, blue text reads βWhy do so many book people keep forgetting to credit illustrators?β Below is the credit βIllustration: Sarah McIntyre ~ http://www.picturesmeanbusiness.com/β.
To publishers & authors posting book covers: Please credit the illustrator.
Doing a #CoverReveal? Credit illustrator & designer. Not only does this help boost artist but it shows people that you hired a HUMAN artist.

Cartoon illustration showing a classroom display titled βOur Favourite Picture Bookβ with drawings of a cat character. The text on the poster reads βBy John Writer. Our class has drawn his character!β Two children say, βWe love John Writer!β and βHis cats are so cute!β Beside the display, a woman labeled βJane Illustrator, feeling miffedβ thinks, βButβ¦ John Writer didnβt decide how this character would lookβ¦ I did!β Caption at the bottom reads β#PicturesMeanBusiness Sarah McIntyre.β
Teachers: Please name the illustrator when you read to students. Discuss the art. Invite illustrators to visit. Show next generation that art in book was created by a HUMAN, that their work matters. www.picturesmeanbusiness.com/teachers/

I started learning embroidery this year and I find it very relaxing.
Great doc pushing back on AI integration in K-12 schools by tackling 4 common arguments.
Iβve been part of the kidlit community for 8-9 yrs. When I first joined I was strictly interested in illustrating. Started exploring writing dummies 6 yrs ago. I donβt really know what has changed. During Covid illustrators were no longer supposed to send postcards but now they are back. #kidlitchat
Itβs always interesting to me when someone says a book βis destroyingβ them and that means it is a good book. To me that means βdo not read this book unless you want to be miserable.β Glad you are βenjoyingβ(?) though.
Tagged the wrong Jessica Townsend (sorry @jessicatownsend.bsky.social). Looks like the Nevermoor author isnβt on Bluesky
Iβve been reading and listening to audio books a lot this week as well (might be procrastinating π¬): SILVERBORN β€οΈβ€οΈ, Book 4 of the Nevermoor series by @jessicatownsend.bsky.social and Books 4 & 5 of the Mistborn series by @brandonsanderson.com

I was at an amusement park with my niece last week and I watched a seagul swoop down and steal a motherβs entire cardboard tray with a burger and fries. The weight caused it to fall a couple meters later but her meal was ruined. She looked so broken. π’
