WIP everything right now, but even with the placeholders this enemy feels so intimidating. Pure bullet-hose action. #gamedev

a dreary sky, a lonely grey concrete tower in the center. there are chambers on the base that a person can enter with stairs leading up to them
a brutalist concrete lobby, with nice carpet, furniture, and plants hanging from suspended planters. the lighting is warm and welcoming
a cavernous gallery room, with a high ceiling and artificial sun panels pouring warm diffused light into the room. there is a statue of a floating octahedron in the center. plants and vines hang down from the walls. the room branches off into other chambers.
view of a tall, oddly shaped hallway. carpet down the whole length. on the left there is seating, a cabinet, and a large painting of some abstract rock formation.
screenshots of the startmap I built for qbj3 or Quake Brutalist Jam III
some fancy bits in here will be in the coming update, like the paintings and plaques

I also made a map for it - "The Oppressing Facade". Thanks a ton to the QBJ3 team for making basically a new super polished and audiovisually stunning game. I can't stress enough how high the production value for it is!

Now i've played through every map in QBJIII (except the QBJR maps) I can safely say it's extremely good. Love most of the mechanical changes, new models, textures, ui work, sound design and a mountain of good maps from newbies and vets alike. Top shelf jam. Want to go back and play it all again.

Jam - Quake Brutalist Jam III
Quake Brutalist Jam III is a megalithic community project more than a year in the making. It features an entirely new arsenal, a set of new monsters, new powerups, and a complete visual overhaul of Qu...
had to wait until the servers weren't so overloaded, but I'm proud to announce that Quake Brutalist Jam 3 is out now!
there's a standalone version that works like a game for those who don't own quake too!

it's the biggest aside from the two coffee quake jams, but those consist of a bunch of extremely tiny maps made by a small handful of people.

only episode I will recommend you outright skip entirely is the season 2 finale, which is just a bad clip show lol

this list looks pretty good. some of these episodes are included more for what they introduce (for future episodes) rather than their actual quality; s02e09 is top 10 material though.

there are only a handful of episodes people recommend to new people in seasons 1 & 2, they're mostly just repurposed scripts from what was originally meant to be a proper follow up to TOS. the TNG everyone raves about is really only seasons 3-5. 6 & 7 have good moments but some eps get kinda stupid.

The Grenadier, our reimagined Ogre. Equipped with a blast suit & gas mask, and wielding a grenade launcher with an electric prong attachment, the Grenadier is a bloodthirsty brute who enjoys his work... a little *too* much.
Like every enemy in QBJ3, the Grenadier comes with an alternate color scheme seen on the right.
A smaller contribution I made was voice acting. I voiced the QBJ3 reimagining of the Ogre, called the Grenadier. Only time I've ever done something like this, it was a fun experience!

The opening scene of the introduction map. The player frequently returns to this point as they progress through the map.
The weapon introduction section of the map. Set up like a firing range, each range teaches the player of the ins and outs of each of the eight weapons.
A section of the final area of the introduction map, which is intended to showcase every unique model made for QBJ3. This section in particular has every giblet, which are normally found in-game when you kill an enemy *so hard* they explode into small meaty chunks.
One of the powerup sections of the introduction map. I intended to have this section laid out similarly to what you would find in a Quake 3/Live deathmatch map; fun rooms to jump around in and kill a horde of enemies to get a feel of each of the two new powerups.
My biggest contribution to the project is the introduction map, intended to showcase everything this project adds in a fun & easily digestible way. Definitely the largest map I've made (so far π).
