We are very excited for the next Zoom seminar of Metabolism in Development & Physiology!
12th of March, 3pm CET/ 2pm GMT/ 9am EST
Our speakers are:
Kathryn Wellen (University of Pennsylvania)
Saraswathi Pillai (Columbia University)

Excited to share our latest work out today in @naturemetabolism.bsky.social @ucirvine.bsky.social www.nature.com/articles/s42...
Honored to use the Stellaris_Eaton to drive our lab's discoveries. Prof. Suzanne Eaton's work and interdisciplinary thinking greatly influences our perception of metabolism as a bridge between cellular dynamics and organismal- scale patterning, growth and physiology.
The next Zoom seminar on metabolism in development will be on 12 February, 4pm CET / 3pm GMT / 10am EST. Our speakers for February will be:
Bezia Lemma (Princeton, USA)
Jonathan Rodenfels (MPI CBG, Germany)

Launching new online international seminar series at the interphase of metabolism, developmental biology and cell biology
Thrilled to share π Iβm starting my lab at University of Zurich,
DMLS as Assistant Professor (tenure track) from Jan 2026!
The Neural MorphoGenomics & Developmental Dynamics Lab will be exploring how genes + morphogenesis shape brain development with organoids, imaging & spatial genomics π§ π¬π§¬
An important piece of my postdoctoral work now out. My first entry into the early secretory pathway regulation had many interesting surprises. Thanks for the collaboration @ishier.bsky.social. The deflects in collagen secretion really elevated the paper.
Looking forward to this interdisciplinary meeting next week!
Excited about a truly international lineup of speakers and looking forward to connecting with fellow stem cell and metabolism enthusiasts at #ISSCR2025.
One month left to apply! Our lab is looking forward to new PhD students with interest in stem cell/ cancer biology and metabolism. Experience and enthusiasm for novel microscopy and /or genomics methods would be very welcome. Please see the ad below for the application procedure.
We will recruit PhD candidates through @fmiscience.bsky.social call due on May1. If you are interested in stem cell biology/ cancer biology and using either imaging or "omics" tools to study metabolism in vivo , please check out the talk and come meet me after.
Super excited to share this story I completed in @elizgrice.bsky.social towards the end of my postdoc! Here we colonized germ-free mice with 50 unique bacterial species that represent the skin microbiome. Also my first paper as assistant professor @WashU!
Meet Anupama Hemalatha, FMIβs newest group leader! Her research uses live imaging to explore how metabolic pathways regulate cell behavior. She shares her passion for science, what drew her to FMI, and why mentorship matters π

My first post in Bluesky and first invited talk as a new PI. Come see how we use in vivo imaging to understand how spatio-temporal changes in metabolism drive responses to oncogenic mutations in the skin. Thanks so much to the organisers for giving me this platform.
