Co-op! Which was likely partially inspired by the board game’s success with co-op, which was a board game based off of the original video game, which was a video game inspired by board games (deck builders).

Designer here. You might want to check Future Flip out in that case. I think having the tiles come out from the bag as they are revealed makes setup less of a chore.
