This is a massive mistake that will only increase harm in a city that is already reeling from severe substance use and associated social issues of dependency such as rough sleeping.

Delighted to be here at the first Cranstoun Domestic Abuse conference.
Here's a short vid explaining the purpose of this day and we'll be posting some content from the Cranstoun acct.
P.S. This is my 1st BlueSky post so give me a follow if you're interested in domestic abuse and social justice.
We're at Worcestershire County ground for the inaugural Domestic Abuse Conference - "A Domestic Abuse Epidemic: How to Thrive in 2025".
Here's a message from @mariacripps.bsky.social on what this day will entail.
Thanks to all for joining us and follow this page for updates throughout the day!
Interesting and detailed coverage on the UKβs first overdose prevention centre in Glasgow.
Pointedly, the overdoses reversed during this visit were reversed by professionals. Without this centre, these people may have died.
Time for more opcβs to be trialled elsewhere in the UK

Really enjoyed watching the @dsmfoundation.bsky.social touring drug education play + workshop in a Ldn school today.
The story was incredibly moving and I was taken aback by how engaged the year 10s were throughout.
Well done to all involved, a brilliant approach to educating yps on drug harm.
It is shocking to see rough sleeping rise by a fifth over 12 months in England, with 4,667 people recorded as sleeping on the streets on a single night in Autumn.
This represents a near-record high and figures have risen for the third consecutive year.
Fantastic to be at the @crisis_uk homeless summit at church house in Westminster today.
Iβm here all day on behalf of @Cranstoun_org, come say hi if youβd like to chat about housing first, supported housing and anything homelessness related!
First part of David Gaukeβs sentencing review is live.
Good to see the acknowledgement of suspended and community sentences being more effective in cutting reoffending than short term prison sentences, as highlighted in the @cranstoun.org submission.

2. Comparative analysis would improve the evidence base, and this can only be done with at least one other site in the UK.
Edinburgh is moving in the correct direction but sites elsewhere in the uk also badly needed
@Cranstoun_org team will keep pushing for more facilities
1/2. Great discussion in parliament on the recently opened OPC.
It will take time to prove its efficacy but we have the global evidence which should give parliamentarians comfort to not wait four years for other sites.

Brilliant to see such a packed room for the brilliant Professor Sir @MichaelMarmot at the APPG on Drugs, Alcohol and Justice.
Fascinating insights into health inequalities, deprivation and austerity on substance related harm.
