I wrote a lil' tool that extracts the attention matrices out of open models and creates this typing visual, with each token's opacity changing according to its average attention score as the prompt progresses. Dimmer words are considered less important to the model.
That's what agentic systems will take away, though I hope there's enough pushback emerging around those to have an impact.
But yes, if this is a path that leads toward greater overall literacy, great.
Yes, though I'm not sure what the life span of those conversations will be. I'm having flashbacks to arguing about understanding OSes as critical to computing independence a decade ago and now running into students raised on iPads and Chromebooks who don't know where their files live, only x1000.
