A digitally drawn homage to the George Herriman comic strip Krazy Kat. Starting left of frame we see yellow Ignatz Mouse having just thrown a brick which is sailing across the center of the frame and in another instant will bash the oblivious Krazy Kat (a blue bipedal cartoon cat wearing a red scarf) in the back of the head as he walks innocently to the right. Everything is drawn in rough black pen and colored in pale washes. A speech bubble from Ignatz reads ‘Maybe it will…’, the word ’Happen’ appears in the whooshing trail of the sailing brick, and a final speech bubble belonging to the Kat reads ‘…Today’.
Finally did a hard prune of the freeman maple. Still bad at guessing die back so I need to clean it up after it leafs out. #Bonsai #maple

Obama's first term, esp before the 2010 midterms. It felt like we'd survived Bush, came back from the brink of economic collapse and smartphones were fresh and new.
Definitely come around to the idea of legislative supremacy, and vesting most of that authority in the House.
Not gonna get pantsed defending another Fetterman. That's on Maine, not me.

I dunno man.... red flags galore.
There's this huge desire to find a working class coded white male progressive senator among a certain segment of the left.
Seen it go south with fetterman too.
I got a pre-recorded call from Mamdani today urging me to apply for PreK for my kid (I already did) which notably didn't happen last year for 3K when me and other parents had to trade notes with our confusion.

"Humanism" used to seem silly to me as a philosophical stance.... because who wouldn't privileged human experience and perspective? Yet now we're here.
I always think "did I f up by leaving some of these outside the cold frame?" by this point in the winter.

I'm sorry you have to deal with this. Fwiw, seeing how shitty people are about trans rights has made them more of a central concern in who I vote for and not less. "If you'd sacrifice them for votes, who else is disposable?"
feels like Washington and DuBois were having a version of this argument 125 years ago!

You ever think about the ancestors in Virginia having to go outside in February to sit on a cold brick outhouse because they ate a questionable piece of salt pork? That's how cold I felt today.
Hegseth earned his MPP from Harvard but apparently did this deranged move:
It's weird because Hegseth has his BA from Princeton but *only* got his MPP from Harvard.
