mom come get me the world is being callous toward my tender heart
the sun is SHINING maybe I should start SEVERAL PROJECTS
Sounds like a (Mr.) probable situation
Sure can haha
That’s literally my fear lmao correspondence that prompts an ai generated image or something
Oh absolutely. Sitting down with the sole intent to chat isn’t really a thing anymore. I used to write my friends long emails.
Seems like culturally, most forms of in-depth connection have diminished in recent years. But maybe nostalgia or my life stage is coloring my perspective.
a very happy Bad Bunny big concert day to all who celebrate
Glad the make America great/healthy again agenda includes normalizing men commenting on women’s bodies!
Think of what technology has taken from us in the last century. Terrifying to imagine how low we could go at this rate.
just had the sick realization that one day we might romanticize the nostalgia of text messages and DMs the way we do now with written letters, because AI threatens to damage our ability to communicate so deeply that texting “hey grl u up” could become a lost art
No one in your life will ever be meaner to you than a middle schooler who wants your help with their homework after 10pm
It’s frankly insulting that the worlds worst people weren’t meeting in a command center in a volcano wearing ceremonial robes but were all emailing on Hotmail accounts like “want 2 atrosity? With wemen?”
craziest part about life in my opinion is all the things that happen
Using exclamation points! So you can tell I’m doing fine!
On the other hand—Being lied to is disempowering! So the truth becomes a currency that feels very valuable, and it feels like collecting enough of it could restore the power that was taken away.
The problem is power shouldn’t be a scarce commodity in relationships. Once it is, you’ve already lost!
Like you wrote me a fraudulent check, combing through your banking statements isn’t putting money in my account.
Waste of energy! Just quit accepting checks!
the feminine urge to go covert detective mode on a cheater, as if stealing the truth could erase the lie
As a woman, the fall from believing we were about to elect the first woman president (regardless of how you felt about Hillary), to seeing how many people support a vulgar racist, was traumatic. We’ve hit lower lows since, but I’m still mourning the naive worldview shattered that night.
Imagine prompting AI for an image when you could spend 5 minutes of your life pouring your heart into a stupid visual joke, hoping to make your friend lol and shake their head at how stupid you are. I feel so sad for these people.
Local politics is where it’s at!
I once asked a friend of mine who used to lobby for Planned Parenthood how to avoid despair and what regular people can do to help and her answer was “local elections.” It’s where change starts and where you can actually see the results of your effort.
It sucks to have curiosity weaponized!Being curious about the world, current events, and how other people think and feel is objectively good! Algorithmic control over millions of people online, however, is objectively bad. I’m not sure anymore that the bad thing can be used for good.
It’s very difficult—as a person who LOVES discourse, and ideas and ruminating and debate and making righteous statements—to accept that social media uses The Discourse as bait to trap me in an unproductive doom spiral for the benefit of shareholders.
I wrote about my experiences being sexually exploited as a child, and what we need to do to make sure AI doesn’t make that a reality for millions of children.

Parenting can be really hard and isolating but occasionally they sneak in some real gems.
One very cool part of parenting that isn’t mentioned enough is that SOMETIMES (not most of the time but occasionally) your kid makes a friend who is such a great kid that when you meet their parents YOU become friends from the foundation of mutual respect for the wonderful people you’re raising.
Dilbert arrives in hell, greeted by Saddam Hussein, Ted Bundy, Ronald Reagan and Hitler, who appear engulfed in flames in front of a banner that reads “welcome Dilbert!”
RIP Scott Adams, creator of the iconic cartoon strip and beacon of white male mediocrity, Dilbert
Thank you! Posting feels so pointless now lol but it still occasionally helps me to work an idea out in the void 🖤
Believing in the innate goodness of 8B souls isn’t a simple worldview.
Seeking understanding over judgment requires ongoing vulnerability & curiosity. The work of compassion isn’t a solution alone, but a gateway to more work.
It won’t make the act of living easier, but it will make it worthwhile.
It is complicated and sometimes painful to believe that the majority of human beings are doing their best. That we mostly want to be good, do good. Love and be loved. That we are all broken in some ways and fighting to feel whole.
Unfortunately, what began as a mental/emotional safety net becomes a cage. Your world view is limited. The world is scary because it is filled with Otherness.
Cities are scary. Other religions are nefarious. Palestinian children are Hamas.
You are blind to the beauty of our shared humanity.
