New macro-empirical research finds that every dollar invested in non-defense public R&D yields $1.40–$2.10 in economic output, and since World War II, government funding has driven roughly 20% of U.S. productivity.
"The social sciences...are vital for individual problem-solving and decision-making and informed policymaking."
Supporting social science supports critical thinking (which students so badly need!) and @sagepub.com is invested heavily in both.

I have been talking to the media, Time, Fortune, NBC, etc., to explain how the onslaught on science and NIH will impact the health of all Americans. Everyone knows someone who has cancer, heart disease, or depression. Spread the word about how cutting science impacts all.
