kinda does feel like all that can do is explain in detail exactly how *this* kind of character can beat him
and if they don’t it’s even less interesting
they can just not have Saitama in Death Battle again imo
I think having a more specific goal than getting to the end is really refreshing; I know not everyone liked that in Yoshi’s Story but I think it works there too

y’know honestly I think Death Battle’s been a little too gung-ho on “but they COULD do this thing they’ve never done before” verdicts lately

All Sonic has to say is “Whoa! It stretched!” and then “We’re finally here,” the latter somehow implying he ran the entire length of this infinite distance.

There is a bit from the Secret Rings manual that describes a corridor you run through as infinite in length. They were willing to provide that.
But man, does the use of the word “infinite” look literal to you? I watched footage of the level, it just kinda stretches a few hundred meters.
I’m not even sure if the guy is right that it’s from the JP manual. The US one calls Amy Sally so it’d be funny if that were where it comes from, but it doesn’t say that either.
but like does anybody know where this comes from? like even if that’s not what it says I can’t even find anything that could be interpreted that way. I’ve been reading all the translations I can find and they say nothing to that effect

been talking to a powerscaler who’s insisting really hard that the Japanese Sonic CD manual says time posts are just a game mechanic and Sonic can just do that because he’s so fast. for the absolute life of me I can’t find any evidence of this.
The answer to why Super Mario Bros. 2's final world only has two levels when every other has three lies in the backstory to Doki Doki Panic. Basically, Wart stole the final page of the book the game takes place in.

it’s funny to imagine a promising game getting canceled because the task of writing the NPC dialogue, of all things, was too daunting
the idea of AI NPCs is so angering because writing random lines for NPCs has to be like one of the most indulgent and fun things you can write for a game surely. fuck off mate.
