Years later, I became a manga artist—
and found myself drawing spaceships for Weekly Shonen Jump.
I truly hope that one day,
each and every one of you will achieve your dreams too.✨
When I was young, my family was so poor that we didn’t even have paper or a sketchbook.
Every morning, I waited for my mother to tear off the calendar before she left for work,
and I would draw on the back of it.
I mostly drew spaceships.
子どもの頃、家がとても貧しくて、
紙やスケッチブックさえありませんでした。
朝、母が仕事に出かけるときに
めくってくれたカレンダーを待って、
その裏に絵を描いていました。
よく描いていたのは、宇宙船でした。
そして時が流れ、漫画家になり、
少年ジャンプで宇宙船を描くようになりました。
皆さんもいつか、
必ず夢を叶えられると信じています。✨
