From The Files: While I’m knee deep in taxes, here’s a SPIDER-MAN from 1999. This was just in pencil. I think I did it for a Wizard School on how to do perspective.

THE HULK! One guess what I’m doing today…
SUE STORM! Working on an 11 x 17 color piece of the Invisible Woman. This is the rough layout. I want to see what kind of transparency effects I can do with the color markers. At this moment, I have absolutely no idea how I’m going to do it. Should be an interesting experiment.
PENNYWISE! 11x17 commission. Collector requested my take on an IT movie promo image. Went grayscale to pop the red balloon.
DAILY SKETCH PORTFOLIO- Get a lot of asks from collectors for what’s available. When I reorganize the portfolio for con season, it’s a good time to show it. Each is 5x8; spreads 8x10. Any piece more than $60 has a little tag on it. All of Wolverine flip book is at the end. Message me if interested.
ULTRON REDUX! Not a repost; I did more work on it. I didn’t think the outline of the head was delineated well enough by the background color. I beefed it up. Compared to yesterday’s version, I think it reads better now.
ULTRON! 9x12 con-style head sketch. Finally home and back at the table (after shoveling a foot of snow).
Daily sketch: DOCTOR BONG! Anyone remember Dr Bong?
Morning sketch: DOCTOR STRANGE! summoning a tiny CLEA. Anyone know if she had a last name?
Morning sketch: COLOSSUS! Started drawing just a bulky figure without a character in mind. It evolved into Peter.
BATMAN! I’m on the road for a few days, so only time for the 5x8 daily sketchbook sketches. Wanted to work on extreme down-angle here, which I sometimes have trouble with.
WOLVERINE! The whole flip book in one video. I looped it once. The flip book actually didn’t work out. Working on each page loosened the spine. They’re misaligned. So I’ll be breaking it up; any and all of these are available.
WOLVERINE! Flip book. Last three pages. Anyone who remembers the very first page of this, the last page matches. It’s a loop. Video of the whole thing coming tomorrow.
WOLVERINE! Flip book. Next three pages. Oops, I think he noticed us…
WOLVERINE! Flip book. Next four pages. I mis-counted. NOW there’s only six to go.
WOLVERINE! Flip book. Next four pages. Six left to go…
WOLVERINE! Flip book. Next four pages. It’s getting serious.
WOLVERINE! Flip book. Next four frames. And yes those are his fingers on the last frame.
Morning sketch: WOLVERINE! vs ninjas. Decided to get back to the flip book I forgot about. Here’s the next sequence. Nunchucks!
MORBIUS! I forgot to post the in-progress pics, which I always think are fun to show. Here it is with the finished version again.
THE PHANTOM’s daughter JEDDA from DEFENDERS OF THE EARTH. This issue 8 page when printed had a series of tiger heads overlaid in photoshop. For the collector getting the original, I went back in to add the tiger. I think it carries well.
MORBIUS, THE LIVING VAMPIRE! 9x12 Finished colors. I wanted to let the blacks bleed into him, and have the all the red be one solid color and blend in with his costume red and see if it read okay. Verdict? (This is available.)
MORBIUS, THE LIVING VAMPIRE! Working on a 9x12 color piece. These are the pencils. I’m going to try something different with the color. We’ll see how it goes…
GALACTUS & SILVER SURFER! Finished! This is available for anyone interested.
GALACTUS & SILVER SURFER! 11x17 Color stage done. Always interesting to see without the blacks filled in yet. And you can see where my test scribbles in those areas.
GALACTUS & THE SILVER SURFER! 11x17 in progress. This’ll be in color, so this is the basic outlines without the blacks filled in. Next step: color.
SUPERMAN! Tried another one of the design things. It’s an interesting effect.
HARLEY QUINN & WHITE RABBIT! Finished the other two bomber nose-art pinups
THE FLASH! 9x12. Weird idea I had for a design-y thing. Converted the line work into vertical lines so the background shows through. Interesting effect.
RED SONJA! Finished bomber nose-art inspired commission. She is a She Devil.
