Not bad. Getting closer. I used too much onion (this recipe called for scallions and all I had was shallots. Turns out they’re not the same????) but getting closer to perfection.

I hate when MeanCat borrows the wheelbarrow. Means he wants to get rid of a body or something, probably mine. I’m sure it’s fine

CREAMSICLES!! Creamsicle 1 and Creamsicle 2, leaders of the eastside Orangeys Parades, have the best life ever with Kate here in Savannah. Both creamsicles slept in bed with her last night! They are so happy and healthy

Moved the galvanized pots to the front walkway, where in a week I’ll transplant a whole bunch of zinnias. The walkway gets full sun, so the flowers will be happy. Fort Basil will remain in the back, though it’s getting a bit shady there. MeanCat has supervised me & is pleased

We need to hurry up and install an Iranian government so that Netanyahu can say it’s only days away from acquiring a nuclear weapon.

Our azaleas are weeks away. Been a chilly-ish few weeks.

I have a few bedrock principles. One is that I will never and I mean never listen to a word uttered by the people who were paid cheerleaders for the Iraq war and still think they can just run their mouth about military interventions as if history started today.

Gracias for this. Just checked out the NYTimes recipe. Makes sense. I used a serious etas recipe but it used sooo much bell pepper. I’m gonna make the times one this evening after work. You know em, I’m gonna obsess until I get it right. Cuz it’s a delicious dish.

Really good. But I’m gonna play with the recipe. Too much red bell pepper. Not enough walnuts. So I’m gonna roast two bell peppers, not the four (raw) I used. And have more chunked walnuts. But it’s within shouting distance of the dip we loved in the Middle East. I’m pleased.

first try at making the Arabic dip muhummara. It’s walnuts pulsed into tiny pieces. red bell peppers & small onion, pulsed into really tiny pieces, then strained & squeezed with cheesecloth (lots of water!). Add oil, pomegranate molasses, Arabic pepper paste, Aleppo pepper flakes, salt, cumin. Mix.

Crap. I wish had gone to the rick Bayless neighborhood. That would have been good.

You know they’re not even trying to get their lies straight about launching this military operation, right? And what is the point of this? They know they can get away with whatever they want because they have gotten away with whatever they want. They don’t even bother to lie

Home. MeanCat greeted me. He was very excited. We came in for seventh dinner. Then he followed me out with the potato dogs to Tinkleland. Now I have to finish some homework and then go to sleep before work tomorrow. Huzzugh.

I heard about that. Yes. I was the lead detective for the double kidnapping and attempted murder. Glad we could help that family. Truly wonderful family. And I was so chubby then. Glad I’m not now.
