One of the best parts of my week is my Monday evening writing group, most of whom are scattered across upstate NY Hudson Valley. I'm always nervous reading the next chapter of Yellow Flowers but they seem to be enjoying the story and I always end up with plenty of ideas for ways to improve it.
It was bad enough when I went to the Museum of Puppetry in Atlanta and found myself face to face with a Skeksis.
This was my starter, back in 1978. Then we discovered D&D and AD&D.

Oh yes. It's pretty much guaranteed we'll have at least one more snowfall this year. And if I take the winter tires off before it happens, it'll be a bad one.
I always wanted to do that, but having broken my neck in a motorcycle accident when I was in my early 20s, it's on a list of things I can't do without serious risk.
Not as risky as bungee jumping, admittedly, but I have never had any desire to do that.
Open... not quite yet.
Crack... yes. At least there's fresh air in the house for the first time in about three months. Cold, but feels wonderful.

Beginning to wish I hadn't sold my Lee- Enfield and Mosin-Nagant. Both were verifiably used to kill fascists 80-some years ago. Pieces of history.
Also yesterday: oil company calls neighbor and says they can't deliver till late next week at the earliest as they have NO OIL. Everyone's filling their tanks before the price goes up any more.
Thursday: Oil's gone up 80c since the start of the week. I'll check mine in the morning.
Friday morning: yes, I do need oil. The price went up 10c/gallon overnight.
Friday afternoon: neighbor calls - have you seen the price of oil? Went up another 10c in the last few hours.
Wonderful.
Now I want a Library Zeppelin! I might even want an adventurous and well-read bluesy rock band called Library Zeppelin.

@daniora.bsky.social I have to say, I'm disappointed by the lack of Helen Edna, Notary Public so far this season. She's my favorite character, mostly because those small-town officials amuse me. I live in a small town in Maine, and I know several of them. 😁
Instead I shall: finish reading Erewhon and Fer-de-Lance, listen to another episode or two of @achewillow.bsky.social s6 with @daniora.bsky.social, plan next week's menu, and (stretch goal) get ahead with tomorrow's scheduled household maintenance chores.

Today is one of those days I don't feel like writing. I know what I want to write and it's all mapped out in my head, but the words won't come. I could try to force them, but I've learned from experience that it's not worth it. I'd write a few paragraphs of garbage and have to delete them tomorrow.
I don't need a new phone yet. One day, but my Pixel 4A5G works just fine for now. I'll keep using it until it no longer runs the apps I need or the battery refuses to hold a charge. 😀
And since the trade-in value of this thing is next to nothing, I probably wouldn't get that $49 offer anyway.
I programmed on punch cards, when my school went online around 1979, my friends and I hacked into the school board computer system, moved all the teacher pay scales four bytes to the left. Their password was CODE, the factory default. Original script kiddies. There at the beginning. Good times.
